Collard House was built in 1899 as a Monumental Masonry showroom and private accomendation for the owner A.E.Collard. Along side were "tin sheds" as workshops, knocked down in 1954 by Exeter City Council to make way for a new road. My father took over the business and the premises as tenants, and we later brought it freehold. The frontage is unusal as it is built over three arches, with large bay windows on the first floor.
We are preserving the features following re-modelling, and A.E.Collard's name carved in stone remains high up on the frontage, together with the stone features and carvings.
